I snapped this handsome chap visiting my garden this afternoon: Isn't he wonderful? I know that gamekeepers, etc don't like them but they are handsome and have such beautiful colours. And a very good photograph as well Sleepy, well captured!

I've just realised I have this photo too. Not quite as sharp, but a better profile.

I see Jays quite often driving through the forest but only flashes as they nip through the trees. I think they are beautiful birds. Funnily enough, I was sitting in Nick and Pru's house at lunchtime having a cuppa when a Jay landed right outside their window. I've never had such a good view of one before. Beautiful colours aren't they?

Beautiful colours aren't they? I'd rather see a glimpse of one in the forest than one like this, 4P. I know zoos do a wonderful job, but it's not the same, is it? I've been scanning old photos again!!

Poor Jay! What was his crime? You would have had to ask the cureator of London Zoo, 30 years ago to find that one out!

I doubt very much if that sort of thing goes on anymore! I'm afraid I don't like to see any birds caged up although I know it's necessary sometimes, like C3D's rescue stuff. I hate to see the little canaries etc in the GC's - poor little things.
