There are two wheelbarrows full outside as well and the drawers are also full as are the freezers with puree and juice. Better than not enough though!

Wow owdboggy, what a fantastic harvest.
I did see at small book at Malvern by Charlotte Popescu about apples - recipes, uses, etc!

Good grief OB, that is a good harvest. How many trees do you have and what varieties?

Wow! I'm glad you harvested them tho, even if you dont know what to do with them, some people just leave them to rot. How were the plums this year?

Not a single Damson this year and only enough plums/greengages to eat there and then, none for jam or freezing. No they are not all good keepers. Discovery,Katja and James Grieves need to be eaten immediately. They are the ones we puree, juice and freeze. Cider is a problem in that to make a decent one you need cider apples which are full of tannin otherwise it is sickly sweet. Apple wine we have made in the past, but since I cannot drink alcohol any more what is the point? What we or the family do not eat, will go to the birds in winter. Blackbirds and fieldfares adore them. Round here almost every garden has at least one apple tree and they ALL seem to go to waste. Awful!
