That looks a good book to start with - are you thinking of taking the plunge, The witch?

We have another of her books Hedgerow Fruits I think it is called. They are good books and there are a few in the new Suffolk Herbs catalogue.
I have a copy of The Big Book of Hens (Francine Raymond) and Keeping a Few Hens in Your Garden - I'm ready, just no hens yet!

Doesn't sound like it'll be long Myrtle before you get the some of the Scratching Brigade in your back garden. If you get them this time of year though they'll be hanging around like a load of bored teenagers until the egg laying season begins, ours were dreadful!

keeping chickens in gardens is getting popular and you don't need loads of room from what i can gather. the house across the road has 2 and they have a small hen house and run, the run is about 5ft by 5 ft so not taking up loads of room.

I would like to keep hens aswell but because I only have a small garden there isnt the space for them. It must be an interesting hobby-I like hearing about other people's hobbies.

I've fancied the idea for some time, but I think it still isn't on the cards for a while yet.
