I tend to buy mine at our local garden centre. I don't buy in bulk. I think their wild bird seed (with sunflower seed and other small seed) is abou £2.00 per Kilo. I also buy the peanuts in 2kilo bags but can't remember the price.

I either buy ours from local g/c or Petsathome. If I could store more, I would buy in bulk. Have you thought about Wiggly Wigglers? I have their catalogue and if I remember correctly, they are not too bad.

I buy from wherever I happen to be but as a rule I think the best place locally is the farm & horse animal feed place where they sell in prepacked bags 5kgs for £3.00, as well as loose. I prefer to buy from them as they make the feed up themselves on site, and since I buy hay from them every week it makes sense to get everything at once.

It's Beart's, The witch - very good place but recently gone all upmarket and selling things like very classy looking horse boxes and wheelbarrows costing a fortune.......still very good for animal feed though!

We tend to buy from Pets at Home or one of the County Store places (sorry can't remember the exact name!) if we are passing and need some. We did buy from CJ Wild Bird Foods but the birds didn't like the mix we had from there. Hadn't thought to look at Wigglywiggers - just tend to go the wormery page! Their delivery service is very good though.

We were at Dad's yesterday and the birds were all over their feeders so we asked what food they were giving them. His wife had bought 'Winter Food' from Sainsbury's - they love it. The only thing is she said it only comes in small bags. I am going to have a nose to see what the mixture is.
We bought a bag from CJ Wild Food a couple of months back but the birds didn't eat it from the feeders, as soon as we put in another one, they went back to the feeders.

My Nan makes a small mix of soaked granary cobs and porridge oats with a bit of lard every day, she has a lot of feathered visitors, Shes always got some raisins in soak for the black birds too. I dont really have many birds visit our garden, there are no big tress round here and plenty of cats.
