Thought I'd issue my annual Sweetcorn Alert! This very wet warm weather will start Smut off very very quickly in the cobs so watch carefully......it's very easy to see the start of it - very unpleasant looking black or mouldy looking growths which deform cobs very quickly. Pick off and bin them - don't compost. Not nice..... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_smutThis link says some people eat them! Yuck.........they are really vile looking though....

Or the pretty white spots breaking out on my chicken? Or the delicate green pools forming on the bread?

Ham mould tastes a bit like old brie.

Far worser.....once eaten Smut eats away at your insides once swallowed..........gradually turning your extremities a lumpy grey/blue squishyness and then it starts on your vital organs.....until finally you simply disintegrate - a soggy putrid pile of smelly ooze.......what about your carpets Sleepy??

Good point. I have fairly new ones in the lounge. Best not to disintergrate into a soggy putrid pile of smell ooze in there - the lady who does would be furious!

Wish I had some sweetcorn to watch. Badgers' favourite food apparently, and I can vouch for that. Oh, well, at least I don't have to be on Smut alert, so the cloud does have a silver lining
