Hi. Sorry if this was answered elsewhere.... I have 6 tomato plants. Celebrity, Tigerella and Early Girl are the varieties. I also have a cherry tomato plant but this concerns the other varieties. We just gathered up 64 ripe tomatoes from the 6 plants. As we are taking them off the vine the question came up ... Should we leave the green cap of leaves on or strip it off the top? We have done about half and half. So ~~~~~~> Since we are not likely to eat all these guys at once, which method is better for storage? With the green leaves on top or not? Thanks. C3D

Um..I'm not sure, C3D! I usually leave it on but not for any scientific reason...........instinct tells me it's the best way but I dunno why..... Maybe someone else will come up with the definitive answer - I hope so - it's an interesting question!

Thanks dear 4P. I thought it best to leave the leaves on too. Lessens or slower dehydration? Looks prettier too. ;D An XX thing perhaps.
