I think yours are big aliens Keith ;D Lovely photo of a lovely plant. I've seen it but never grown it. I'm hoping the ones I've got will spread too ;D They like shade - I've got them at the front edge of my Hellebore bed. Be careful what you wish for! They can *very* quickly become weeds and you'll be pulling them out by the fist-full! Very pretty though. ;D

I can't believe something so exquisite and exotic looking grows outside in the flower bed, and as C3D says can get rampant! It wouldn't stand a chance though in my garden, the slug'd have that no problem, and rampant? It wouldn't stand an earthly! It looks very slug friendly doesn't it, growing there so prettily and so perfectly! It's really lovely The witch.

I bought one on ebay, the slugs loved it to death, within a day or so of it showing its head above the soil, there was no sign of it ever being there.

Oh heck I wont waste my money then as my neighbour thinks slugs are CUTE little things and I am cruel!! I might add that she doesnt have anything in her garden except Bdy; conifers that leach the goodness out of my back border.

First time I've grown these - the flowers are very small - only about an inch across. i33.photobucket.com/albums/d75/The witch-in-Norfolk/Apple%20Close%20G/Plants/ToadLily.jpg [/IMG]
They are lovely very unusual

Does anyone know how these plants got the common name of "Toad Lilies"? I wonder if it's the spots? They all seem to have them.
