We have a yellow tiger lily, rather rare. Waiting for the only flower to survive the slugs and the rain washed it off yesterday while we were away from home. Rats. L. lanceolatum is dead easy from bulbils if anyone wants some, shout soon as they are falling off. I have a double from of this lily too. Some like it some hate it.

I should have waited until the pictures downloaded (about 10 minutes at present speed) before posting. The pictures are of Tigridia pavonia which is not aTiger lily which is Lilium lanceolatum. Tigridias are members of the Iris family rather than a Lily one. Sorry.

It may sound daft but they don't look like garden flowers do they? They should be in an exotic greenhouse surrounded by other weird and wonderful things : I wonder if they object to being in pots...does anyone know? They'd be swamped by weeds in my flower beds....but I would still like to grow them.

Thanks Roan, the last photo was taken with my new camera btw - you ought to grow some Tiger Lilies Roan, they'd do well in your climate I'm sure. You may have a great camera, but it's the person who lines up the shot and presses the button that makes a picture stunning! Yes, we should grow some as they would do very well.
