And yes I know the Bible does not mention the name of the fruit, but today I had the first Discovery apple of this season. Perhaps a week from perfection but still mmmmmmmmmmmm. Have you ever noticed that when you cut a home grown apple it begins to oxydise( turn brown) immediately, but a shop bought one stays white until you throw the bits on the compost heap? Who needs irradiation eh?

You cannot beat the flavour of a fresh picked fruit can you? I have so many apples on the trees here I'm having to prune them like grapes........but the pears are really far and few between this year sadly.... I've never noticed about the oxidation, OB....my goats get the cores usually, and they're not fussy about the colour
