Just read on Ceefax, that some Ghost Slugs have been found in Wales, that loves munching our worms. These slugs are normally found in Turkey and Georgia. I wonder if there is a link, hang on... Here you are. Should we be worried? Whatever happened to those flatworms that were supposed to erradicate our worms, virtually overnight? If our gardens did lose our worms, what would happen to our soil? Is this the right board to put this on, not sure?

I dunno, Keith...we keep reading about all these deep down changes, it's a worry. Malignant ladybirds, strange new insects appearing, the bees disappearing.......... Have these Ghost worms been accidentally introduced? Maybe we're on the cusp of major new alterations (man made or otherwise, who knows really?). I doubt there's much we can do about them now anyway (and there are a LOT of earthworms, I'm sure they'll cope).......time will tell.....

I shall check all my new plants very carefully. I want all my worms, cant spare one for a foreign slugs lunch! The New Zealand flatworm was scary enough, but our poor worms dont stand a chance if those things proliferate too.

So now all us gardeners must have a vegetable patch, native plants, a pond, a chicken run, a compost bin, water butts, a beehive, a worm bin.....anything else I've missed......

Since I own most of the world's slug population I'll nip out and ask a few - I'm sure there must be at least one of them who's heard about these beasties on the sluggy telegraph..........
