It starts again, next week! Is it getting later each year, as I have baby blackbirds nearly adult, nearly full grown baby sparrows, frog tadpoles nearly frogs, etc? I think you get the drift! I suppose it's to coincide with Bill's swallows, but think 'Spring'watch, should be re named. Or is it just me?

I thought I'd missed it this year....it does feel as if Spring is about over doesn't it? I suppose that burst of lovely sunny weather made it seem so......it's still May...it seems to have lasted a long time. Which is nice.

Springwatch starts this week (or tonight is it?). Just wanted to recomend that everyone watches it as it is being broadcast from Pensthorpe in Norfolk this year - a truly gorgeous bird reserve with a glorious garden by Piet Oudolf - well worth a visit at any time of year but very beautiful atm. Lots of water, lots of birds and loads of plants. I love it there

Don't forget, Kate is worrying about eating her hat, that has to count for something, doesn't it? ;D

What a lucky bloke he was....What I know about pine martins (admittedly not too much) I was very surprised about that. I have only ever seen one once, can't be sure about the second siting in Scotland, but it was in Wales many years ago, near our caravan site, but it was very timid to say the least.

Did you see the wildcat - wasn't she gorgeous! Hope they show more of her - although they said the cameraman had been back and he hadn't seen her again. So elusive.

I did, but Kate didn't eat her hat! Then again, as stated, was it 100% wild cat? Who got the capercaillie, before they showed what is was? I did!! ;D Jennifer and Craig both looked at me and they both said pig or hog. I thought Capercailie and they both looked at me, surprised, never a bird, they said!! We'll see, I replied!!
