Tell me then - do they taste of Cucumber, Lemon or Apple? I have to convince my granddaughter that Ama's cucumbers are better than Tesco's.....she thought they were 'disgusting' last year..... :

I have to convince my granddaughter that Ama's cucumbers are better than Tesco's.....she thought they were 'disgusting' last year..... : They taste like an ordinary cucumber. Sweetie grew them last year I think, and found them bitter. But I think she allowed them to get over mature.

Well that's a major disappointment then........bum....how do you know when they're ready to pick? If you want apples it's best to grow apples rather than cucumbers. Same goes for lemons. And that was the problem Sweetie had.

We do grow round cucumbers here. My wife cannot eat ordinary cucumber, but can eat the round ones. They are a gentle cucumber, don't seem to react like telegraph cucumbers. They do still taste like cucumber though! ;D
And Sleepy, for me it was Borkum Riff and it wasn't whiskey either! ;D

How do you mean react? do you mean repeating on you? If so I'm gonna have a go, I LOVE cucumbers but the indigestion isn't worth it, I've tried peeling them but still no joy

As it was bone dry when I got it home yesterday I stood the pot in a saucer of water in the shaded but still bright kitchen window overnight and I swear it has grown well over an inch! It was a very tiny plant with its first true leaves only yesterday and this morning it's grown another pair of leaves and has reached the top of the label. Amazing isn't it?
