They are odd little things aren't they? But bursting with character...are they easy to keep, Mick? They look like the sort of thing a child would find fascinating.....

I don't find them difficult and they really don't seem to need much water at all. They take up little space. They look a bit like bird droppings....

Ideal for children then - there's nothing like a bit of poo to catch a child's interest is there?? ;D Presumably they are houseplants....?

Yup. Treat like any other succulent. Loads of sun, not too much water and they don't need much warmth in winter.

Well, when I was a teenager we had a budgie named Atilla. He was a 'man's budge'. He had a little wooden leg and a tiny man on his shoulder. He used to pull his feathers off he and wrote 'Hell's Angels Budgie Chapter' on his chest in biro. But the lack of feathers meant he had trouble flying, so I had to make him cardboard wings from an old cornflakes packet. he would hang-glide from his cage, and rise on the thermals coming off my bowl of porridge in the mornings. The trouble was - and this is what reminded me of this story - he used to poop in my porridge. And budgie crap is not that distiguishable in porrige!!! I loved that bird - so full of character!
