This is Restrepia brachypus, a native of Ecuador. I *love* this little orchid. He just blooms all year! Now there are 9 flowers or buds on this one plant that grows on my kitchen window sill.

Hi all. All the planty things can and are easily removed from their window hanging-out place. I normally give them a good soak in some tepid water with a very weak plant food solution every other day. They are misted at least twice daily too. Clean the window? Whatcha mean? ;D OK. Here's some of the individual new purchases.... Vanda *********** Rdcm. Orchidom Red Love x Onc. (Wimpy x Sniffen 'Jennifer Dauro') ************ Masdi. Ted khoe

Did I dream it or is there a Dracula orchid?

I love the Vanda colour too! I saw one about 4 years ago but did not buy it. I didn't have too much orchidy experience and was afraid I would kill the beautiful plant. I gave in to temptation at the orchid show this year. ;D Mr. C. there are Dracula orchids. Odd little guys. Their flower spikes come from underneath the plant. In the latest photo of my kitchen window, right smack in the middle, is a hanging basket that has some red leaves from Rex Begonia cuttings. That basket contains one of my Dracula orchids. He's not in spike now. He was in August or September of last year. Right now he's just leaves and more leaves.

Here's some of what I have in the kitchen window. I'll turn them all around for a complete view of the plants. There's more on the windowsill. I hope to post a better picture of the kitchen garden later this weekend and a list of the plants in the photo.
