Thinking of those pictures of Elsie's greenhouse, there is a wide range of beautifully flowered cacti that can be grown in such conditions i.e. humid and shady rather than dry and full sun. Have a look at this site:- pagesperso-orange.fr/cactusepiphytes/

Have a look at this site:- pagesperso-orange.fr/cactusepiphytes/ There's a cactus for every spot the Mick - BTW my French is rubbish. Hooray! A reply to one of my threads! You can click on the English version The witch. What did you think of them? They're not really my cup of tea as they are pretty dull when not flowering but they are a nice addition in a "normal" greenhouse like Elsies.

I like form and shape (and diifficulty of cultivation) and they don't fit that criteria being pretty ugly out of flower and pretty easy to grow. Having said that I've got three of them - one of which is huge with big pink flowers and was a cutting from a pub plant, one is smaller but very floriferous and was a cutting from a clients greenhouse and the other was a plant I liberated from a Greek holiday. They need humid shaded conditions and my greenhouse is as sunny and dry as I can get it. I grow them in the garden in summer but they are a slug and snail magnet and would do better in a greenhouse. If anybody wants a cutting let me know.

So if I was to have a greenhouse in the corner of my garden near a couple of fences it would suit them just fine then? I'd love a cutting please Mick Indeed. A slightly shaded greenhouse is good. I will do cuttings for you with pleasure - a kiss is unnecessary (but very welcome )
