Woo hoo!
Somebody is sending me a seedling of Cleistocactus winteri subsp. colademono.
I have been after this ever since it was discovered a few years back but I can't find a picture of it for you.
Basically it is a very bristly hanging cactus which looks like a monkeys tail. Apparently colademono means monkey tail.
Exciting or what!!

sounds great Mick! Will you have to be very quiet every time you go past this cactus so you don't scare the monkeys and get bad luck, like a monkey puzzle tree? We need a pic of this, ask Santa the fat bloke in a red suit who comes in DEC for a digital camera!

Sorry 4P.........
Cleistocactus winteri is the nearest Reet as colademono is a sub species. I have C. winteri which is really beautiful and I recommend to everybody but colademono is much, much more bristly and quite distinct. I couldn't see it in there but then I didn'tgo through every page.

Hi Mick, I bought a Monkeys Tails Cactus from Arley - a Cleistocactus which hangs down. It looks just like fluffy tails - I love it.

I adore the Blues Brothers! I had written arrangements for a few of the songs from the film to play in an ensemble (I play the Sax) ; The Peter Gun Theme, Minnie The Moocher, Sweet Home Chicago, I did Green Onions too which I think is in the second film. Oh, Those were the days!

Oh, Those were the days! completely off topic I know ;D but I've been to 'Tribute to the Blues Brothers' shows here in Leicester at the DeMontfort Hall Debbie..they tour most years...absolutely brilliant*...and of course we all dress up and join in with all the dances and songs... * depends a lot on the cast, we've been lucky with the ones we've seen.
