Please go to the Humane Society's website and sign their petition to stop this obscene and barbaric practice...I can't work out how to post the link but if you go to their web page you can find the details...I don't advise you to watch the video.....  |

I've been to that site and signed their petition, although I had to put an american or canadian state in, still the main thing is I signed it I guess. It's unbelievable that so called civilised people can behave so inhumanely to those poor defenceless seals!  Makes me feel like not buying anything Canadian at all! |

Some are not even dead when they get skinned either, which is appalling. When you hear about this and what they do to sharks to make shark fin soup, it make me sad to be called a member of this human race! Just had this email, Grrr! Dear Keith, This year the Canadian government promised a more humane hunt. They said “Canada’s seal hunt is humane, sustainable and responsible.” They lied. Thanks to your support, IFAW Hunt Observers have been on the ground and in the air documenting the hunt since it opened on the 28th of March. Only days into the hunt they have captured on camera instances where animals were shot and clearly left to suffer on the ice…in one case for over a minute. They have witnessed live seals being hooked and dragged across the ice. And in one of the more disturbing moments they watched as a sealer wrote an expletive on the ice while a recently clubbed seal behind him started to move...obviously still alive. Is this the Canadian government’s idea of a more humane hunt? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What the hell is going on, are these people doing these things, actually human? It's further proof that there are several different types of humans and these 'hunters' are a sub group. I know we live in a sheltered, soft and out of touch with Nature society in the UK but there is no reason for these people to hurt these animals so cruelly. It is heartbreaking and barbaric. Keep the pressure up please.

The IFAW have been sending me info and updates ever since I sent the letter to our MP re the Humpback Whale hunting. The video makes me sick to the stomach and I find it hard to believe that those people seem to do that to the seals so matter-of-factly or with such comtempt. Can't you see in the video that one of the seals almost makes it back into the water but just leaves it a second too late?
I hate those people - I hope that they get theirs one day.
