Nope, I am not a great book lover, tbh! Rather read magazines on gardening, wildlife or angling.
I loved reading Stig of the Dump as a kid! I read it three times one night, by torchlight too!! I was about 14 and my Mum couldn't understand why I was so tired at the breakfast table!! If I remember correctly it was a Saturday, so no real harm done!!

Apart from C.S.Lewis I quite liked Enid Blyton's 'Mallory Towers' books when I was v young... didn't read Hobbit or LOTR until I was about 12 (The Hobbit was a set book in the first year wasn't it 4P? remember Mr Peacock the English teacher?)..OOH does anyone remember reading Alan Garner books? his Weirdstone of Brisinghamen was absolutely brilliant.... When we were teenagers we were besotted with D.H.Lawrence.....especially his short stories. Oh yes and the inevitable 'rude' books every teenager needs to read....Edna O'Brien....bless her....

I also enjoyed books by Joanne Harris (Chocolat), Kate Atkinson (Behind the Scenes at the Museum) and read the occasional Michael Chrichton book....
My last purchase book-wise was 'The Dark Side of the Universe' by Iain Nicholson...it's about dark matter, dark energy and the fate of the cosmos....I've read the introduction...but then I needed a lie down......
