I don't read books as often as I should - just don't get the time. If I read in bed I fall asleep in minutes. Holidays are the only real chance that I get and I doubt if I will get one this year.
Books by the bed are Art Deco style books, Plain Tales from the Hills by Rudyard Kipling (absolutely love anything by him although I struggled a bit with Kim) and the Curry Bible by Madhur Jaffrey. Oh, and the scripts of Dads Army.

The scripts of Dad's Army? You mean you don't know them off by heart.... You need a pilgrimmage to Thetford forest, Mick, if you're a fan - all the outdoor sequences were filmed just down the road from me. It's quite fun trying to place exactly where all the shots were taken when we watch it. People still remember whan they used to stroll into the local pub etc (not much happens around here, it was years ago now!) Must have been quite peculiar seeing Captain Mannering having a pint..apparently they were all really nice.

I do know them off by heart pretty well (and 'allo 'allo and Blackadder) but reading them as well is good fun (closet actor me). Have you been to Bressingham Gardens which are out your way? They had a mock up set of Dad's Army I think (and lovely steam trains - another of my weaknesses).

That is one programme, I don't mind repeated again and again! Keith

I'm certain someone, somewhere has a series of walks designed to let you see every bit used by Dad's Army - that would count as a major tourist attraction round here - we tend to get bypassed as folk go to the Broads or the coast. I don't mind that though - it's nice and quiet...
