Well, typical! In the 20 odd minutes since I wrote the above post - the sky has clouded right over and it's raining! Would you Adam and Eve it??

Let's hope Billy cat needs to go out for his normal walkabout then...usually I wake up to his screeching around that time of night..I knew I put up with it for a reason.

Enjoy yourself - I hope you all have a wonderful view. (Can someone wish for a Lottery jackpot? I don't want much....)

I got up in the middle of the night and it was a clear starry filled sky so I stood for about 20 minutes at the open window and saw 1 shooting star. I got a bit chilly so gave up. I hope you all saw what you wanted. And did anyone remember to wish for the Lottery win, please?

After I left here I went outside. Saw a couple of shooting stars but then it started to cloud over so I went to bed. Had to get up in the night - saw it was about twenty to three - so went outside and it was glorious. Bright, clear, star-filled skies. Saw another shooting star but was too tired/cold to stay out longer. Hope others had better luck and saw more of a 'shower'

They were very pretty, and it was an experience I shall never forget!

Funnily enough, both our fire alarms went of at about 1.30 am. So while the OH went and investigated I had a look out of the window. Black as the ace of spades, not a star in sight!. No fire either, probably the alarms getting over sensitive to thesmell of baking bread. Very hard to get back to sleep when the room smells so breakfasty.

Panasonic, as stated!. And if you can think of a better start to the day than a hot fresh home made crust with home made jam then you are better than me. The only time it gets better is when bread is made during the day and jam making is on the go and the coffee percolater is on. Hot baking bread, hot boiling jam and steaming, freshly ground coffee. Heaven.

I see astronomers have just discoveerd a void in space with absolutely nothing in it and it's a billion light years across.
Hard to get one's little brain around something as big as that.

Trillions of light years across. I heard that if you scaled our solar system down to the size of a grain of sand the void would be equivilent to being larger than our solar system.
