I mostly do 1000 pieces, sometimes 500, you should have given the 5000 piece to me i would have finished it, I would have needed a bigger table to put it on, ive got a jigsaw board that keeps all the pieces together i leant it to my sister 4 years ago and am still waiting for her to finish the jigsaw she started ;D

It did it's job, but was never finished as it was sabotaged by persons unknown.

I used to do jigsaws many years ago when I was carrying my girls, after that there was no time for that sort of thing. I remember I did a round one, an archaic view of the world one side, on gold foil and a modern globe the other, I mounted that one between two sheets of glass. Dont remember how many pieces but they were pretty small and the puzzle was about 18"

I have to be careful with the cats as they jump on the table and knock the pieces down and William always has to put in the last piece ;D.
I would like to have some of mine mounted i will do them eventually.

I love jigsaws but I dont have much opportunity or space to do them now. I think they are very good for you. I wouldn't mount them though cos I like putting them away and forgetting I've done them and having another go a few years later..sad,eh?

We like doing Jigsaws in the winter too. Have you tried Wasgijs Karen? (Wasgij is jigsaw backward BTW ;D ) www.jigsawpuzzlesdirect.co.uk/Or have you tried the murder mystery ones, where you read a short "who done it?" story, do a jigsaw with out a picture to copy to find the clues to the murder? ;D

I found pieces in my compost bin when I moved it a few weeks ago!

I love jigsaws but we don't really have the space to set up a decent 1000 piece one to do gradually. We do one every year over Christmas at my mum and dad's though - they set up a card table in mum's workroom and it's nice to go and mull over the pieces if you want a bit of peace! Mum's got some amazing Escher ones - you should give them a go Karen!

Sorry I should clarify that - she puts one in a clip frame and bungs it on the wall so she can enjoy a finished one while she's working on another. When the next one is finished, the first one is removed from the frame and put away so she can enjoy the second one while doing the next puzzle, and so on.

We were up in Nottingham at the weekend, helping a friend start to move house and there were ~200 jigsaws in her loft and Jennifer counted 40, still in their cellophane rapper!!! We have told her to maybe get rid of a few!!
