Aren't they beautiful? Well done for getting a picture OB. I keep forgetting my camera : There are lakes behind me (old sand pits) which are home to many thousands of geese. I love to stand out and listen to them all talking to each other in the afternoon. The level of noise is amazing! As I drive to work there is one particular field which always has huge numbers - last week the low sun was burnishing them with gold - Egyptian, Canadian and many others - it was a glorious sight. It is a common sight to see the great V's of geese and swans flying backwards and forwards here.

You may laugh but I'm sure if it's going to happen, it'll happen in Norfolk..... ...and anyway, that's rich coming from someone whose eyes have teeth! :

The birds are arriving sooner than usual this year - which is a bad sign. I know, I saw the film. And they are all lining up on the telephone wires, watching as I walk down the road. I'm blocking up my fireplace this evening.

We are in the Shropshire Lake District so we see lots of water birds as they fly between the Meres.
