I have had a few, mainly blackbirds and starlings, hitting our patio doors. Just had one now, but they always fly off eventually so no real harm done. Anyone else had this and is there anything we can do to stop this happening. I had a few sparrows flying into my window as a kid, not many since until we moved here. It's starting to be a regular occurance this year now, so any advice gratefully appreciated. What do you clean your windows with? It's nearly alway the patio doors or occasionally the window in this room, both facing the garden!! I have my pot plants ouside the doors, so is this it, even though I have had this situation before and not had a problem? Keith

Have you any net curtains up or anything at all to clue the birds that this is a solid object they are flying into ? I had to hang a bead curtain on my patio doors in my old place, just so the Birds could see the obstruction. I know this will spoil your clear view of the garden but it seemed the only fair thing to do, to me! :

Not had a problem here so far, touch wood but we had many birds flying into the windows of our last house. Have a look at THIS LINK Keith.

My parents put two 6" stickers with a picture of an owl on each on their patio doors. They were there for about 20 years and we never had birds crashing into them..

Things settled down after my last post with no more accidents, until the last few days. Maybe it's the time of the year? Had a blackbird first and then two days ago, a wood pigeon!! That really did sound, I'm surprised the window is still intact. Both birds flew off, though the pigeon got mobbed by a crow for about 30 seconds, while flying around the garden!
