I think I'm very lucky as they do visit my garden ;D i33.photobucket.com/albums/d75/The witch-in-Norfolk/Lavender%20Cottage/Garden%20visitors/HummingbirdHawkmonth.jpg[/IMG]

I saw one for the first time in my garden in September 2005. I got quite excited (I'm not normally excitable) and reported my sighting on a moths in your garden website. Last year, the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust were recording sightings and I sent them an email as we had a few come last year. Beautiful, fascinating creatures.

I will never forget the first time I saw one about 10 years ago, the only way I could describe it to my OH and daughter was by saying it looked just like a hummingbird, needless to say I wasn't really surprised to discover that it was called just that.

Oh how lovely! We have them here too although I don't know if they are the same species. I thought it was a huge bee the first time I saw them.

They are beautiful! When I was a child I was afraid of them at first glance thinking they were huge bees.
