Smilies are small graphical icons which you can insert into your messages to convey an emotion or feeling, such as a joke or embarrassment. For example, if you entered a sarcastic comment, rather than type 'that was a joke', you could simply insert the 'wink' smiley. A very large range of smilies are available for you do use in your postings, and can be found on the left-hand side of the new message window.
You can disable smilies in your messages by selecting a checkbox underneath the new message window.
