Hi, just put in my usual order for things and noticed these... www.petvetcare.co.uk/acatalog/Cat_Beds.htmlYou need to go down the page. Does anyone use them, or they just a gimmick? Is this pet pampering taken too far? I would be too worried about the water running out and knackering the motor!! My dog just gets fresh water in a bowl twice a day and her usual slurp out of the pond!!! I think she prefers pond/puddle water!! Keith

Well there is pampering and there's pampering ;D My cats have a very large water bowl, but they both drink from the pond; Gizmo likes to drink from a watering can or the bath tap when it's cold or raining. I wouldn't buy one Keith, for a start I don't know where I would plug one in - almost all of the power points in my kitchen and utility are in use.

No, I am glad, as surely you can't just recycle water through a carbon filter, not knowing when it may leach back out again!? Jennifer is back from Poland now, so I will show it to her to see what she thinks! Think I know what she will say! : Now if the Beckhams had cats or dogs (do they, not sure) would they have one in each room? Keith

The water fountain actually may help some cats, particularly male cats who have urinary tract problems. Cats seem to be fascinated with running water and will drink more from flowing water. This is more important for cats that are fed dry food because they need to drink more just for the fact they need to soften the dry food to be able to digest it.
The drinking fountain increases the water intake and decreases urinary tract problems in male cats. It may do the same for male dogs. The females can have urinary tract problems too but because of their shorter urethra (the tube that connects the urinary bladder to the outside world) and straighter urethra the female dogs and cats are far less likely to get a potentially life threatening obstruction.

Nice one The witch!!! Keith Also Chickadeedeedee, I understand that from the site, but as carbon filtration is hit and miss to say the least, not sure i would have full confidence in this aspect of it! Surely fresh water changed regularly is better?!! ;D

No doubt fresh water is best! I think the fountain may make it easier for people to forget that.
