This thread has come about when I posted a picture of a Nasturtian, and 4P commented on the centre of the flower. And how amazing it was. So......... I have had a look through my photo's and found these. I hope you like them. Nasturtian Poppy - Shirley. Begonia - Picotee Dahlia Rose. Potentillia -Miss Willmott. White Poppy Tulip - Angelique. Helenium - Moerheim Beauty. Zinnia. Can you guess what they are?

Thank you all. So...... nobody wanted to guess then. Esmey the 4th one down is a Begonia (Salmon Picotee) bought as tubers from Wilco's last year. I'm sure you could buy them this year. Here's a fuller picture. I've found some more if anyone would like to see them ?

Wow and double wow, Ali. They are great photos. It's surprising how some flowers look close up, that normally you wouldn't give a second glance to.

You know, the more I look at them the more i'm amazed by their beauty. 4P - I haven't got them into photobucket yet but will start now, I can't guarantee they will be as good as the first ones though. If anyone else has some pictures to add to this thread you are more than welcome. Especially as I have a limited selection of flowers in my garden.

The endless variety and subtlety of Nature close up is quite fantastic. I know Cheery has occasionally spoken to me about the amazing patterns and colours she sees under her microscope of the most toxic and horrendous viruses etc. WHAT a wonderful world isn't it?

It certainly is 4P, wouldn't it be great to see these flowers under a microscope. Just a few more - not many left now.

I know what you mean 4P - to me it looks a little like a white spiders belly with lots of babies round it. What I like best though is the detail of the veins in the petals. Thanks Mrs Beige. Does anyone have a favourite - I keep chopping and changing. :

For me second favourite is the bee on the sunflower but my absolute favourite is the one just above it - what flower is it? it's got a thistley-looking centre to it.

I love lifting snowdrops heads and looking at them. Their most beautiful looks, like a shy young girl, are hidden with their heads bowed.

That's one of my favourites too The witch. I like the sunflower Mrs B, the centre makes me think of a black hole. The one above is Gaillardia – sundance. Heres the full pic. There great for a hot splash of colour in the border or pots. So far mine have come through the winter too. Which they don't always in past experience. Maggyd – I like taking photo's of flowers. Iv'e now got so many hubby is complaining i'm taking up too much room in the computer. : I also tend to hog it. (Camera that is.) ;D It seems a bit unfair hubby has bought your camera and you can't have it yet. Bet you'll have lots of fun though when you get it.
