House plants hate being covered in dust which makes photosynthesis almost impossible - so why not make the most of the current weather and pop them outside and allow the rain to give them a shower, they will love you for ever. ;D Or if you collect rainwater why not pop them outside and give them a shower using a watering can.

Reet, do you know, I did exactly that this morning - put them all on the garden table for a wash. What a coincidence!!

My Christmas Cactus`s and orchids are out there now, have been for a couple of months, Cacti are looking v healthy under the lilac tree in a pot holder thingy and the Orchids are looking happy too. My other houseplants go out for showers but I have to remember with some not to leave them in direct sun after, or they get burned! Begonias are terrible for that. African violets shouldnt get their leaves wet at all, so they dont go out. I dust them with a clean blusher brush.

I should do it more often that I do! I must admit, don't know why, but never thought about the orchids! It would be perfect for them, wouldn't it? All my foliage plants get a shower from time to time.

Some of my plants are too big to carry downstais so they have a shower in the bathroom but most go out and get a wash when its raining not as often as i would like though.

Ahem...most of my houseplants look like they should be in Miss Havisham's house (not a house proud old girl)...my Aloes particularly are disgustingly grubby. There's a HOOGE spider lives in the really big thorny one though....I is scared of it........OK, OK, I'll put them outside...somewhere.....need more tables, she does...

I think that's to make up for the fact that you can't touch 'em wthout them damaging you! Isn't Nature wonderful?
Sorry Mr Cactus, sir.....I love them and mine seem to thrive on affection and neglect.......they are very well....

Actually 4P, you're not wrong. Considered neglect is not a bad thing for cacti.
