Mine are a bit late this year, but at last they have worked out what they are supposed to be doing, and we have a big blob of spawn.
Hopefully they will be carrying on for the next day or two.
Crikey, they are a dim bunch this year - I've had to go out there with a dry-wipe board explaining it all to them. They sat there looking at me blankly with just their heads poking out of the water. Does anyone else have dim frogs this year?

Perhaps they were just shy.they probably remember the video camera from last year when you were filming "frog porn", they waited till they were sure you werent watching, Im sure. ;D

;D How can they be dim? They read your instructions, give 'em some credit! Oh come on! You know when you explain something to a group and at the end you ask if anyone has any questions? And if nobody has you know it is an indication that nothing sank in? Well... youy guessed it... not ONE of the little buggers had a single question.

That's purely because they had too much else on their minds. ;D I bet every word and diagram sunk in.

My lot are totally useless - not a drop of spawn in sight.

We have spawn now! I didn't think it would be long before we had some, lets hope the weather stays OK for it to flourish. Will have to save some and put it in the burried tub, if not the fish will have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Keith

Weird this, really weird!! What is this you may ask? Well it's this! Being in this thread, really gives the game away though, doesn't it? What was the lady frog upto, laying spawn through the netting!!! Keith

What I want to know is, how you got the photo? Do you have an underwater camera? Clever lady froggy obviously mated on top of the netting, and avoided the unfortunately frequent drowning accidents that so often befall an attractive frog-lady with too many suitors! ;D

Not happened before, not really sure what to do, TBH. Do I leave them and let nature take it's course? Fish aren't interested, YET, but they will, when they start to hatch. There is four other lots of spawn in a better place, UNDER the netting, so I know if I lose some of this lot, I will still have a backup! Do I intervene or not, I'm 50/50, on this one? Keith

Looks a bit like caviar. Do you think it would be nice on crackers?

Oh yuk roan! ;D And even yukkier was the grisly sight which met me at the bottom of our pond this morning. OH had mentioned that we had a dead body on the bottom of the pond and lucky me was the person to remove it. This poor frog! When I tried to bring it up a huge globule of frogspawn came up at the same time, attached. There was a lot of blood and guts so could she have exploded with all that spawn in her, or ruptured? It was HORRIBLE and a very sad sight. Your photo of the spawn is brilliant Keith.
