Please feel free to post images of your wildlife ponds here and any images of the actual wildlife you may have been lucky enough to capture ;D Heres Kermit, taking a bath in a pond which had only been dug for a week, and which had been filled from rainwater butts Another pond, also mine which was occupied very quickly.

I finally managed to haul out the water lily from my pond this afternoon. Was appalled to find it was a massive muddy ball about 2' across. I have divided it, tied a quarter of the original mass to a brick, and chucked it bac.. errr replanted it Finally got the lawn mower going, so am giving the lawn a trim now. I've just come in for a breather.

What will you do with the rest of the waterlily, is it not worth keeping?

I don't think so. No where to keep it, and it has to go from the pond before the frogs orgy weekend.

Brilliant pics The witch!..... the beetle with the long legs... remind me what its called ? I had one in my pond last year attached to a tadpole. It was obviously feeding on it, and it did look odd swimming around stuck to it, my son felt sorry for the tadpole though. .

Perhaps I shouldnt have given my son the lecture about all things having a right to live after he killed it then! He felt very protective of the tadpoles even after I explained that they would probably eat each other.

Not sure what happened to the one in the photo - I think I left my hubby to deal with it.

I must find some better ones, but here is one my wife took of ours, two houses ago, after we had been away for a two week holiday. She wanted to finish her card off before downloading her first pictures. Please note a few days later it looked better with more water in it and grass cut around it!! Keith

Beautiful Keith, Was it a fish pond or wildlife? If wildlife the long grass would have been appreciated by the critters even if you didnt like it!

It was a wildlife one and we had frogs, newts, dragonflies and most things in it after only a short while. Like i said I must find a better picture. Going to go through my old computer (my son's now) and see if I can find others. I know I have ones (hopefully haven't lost them!) of sparrows bathing in the water on the beach. Had a thought last night it was on another card, but I will look into it later.

Does everyone notice the YELLOW lupin, it was supposed to be the Governor, i.e. blue!!? Badly labelled, I think. It was a pity we left there as I was a couple of years into that five year plan I have in all my houses! Keith

There was one lady frog in my pond this morning, waiting with a look of eager anticipation on her face. I'm sure the party will be starting very soon ;D

You're wasting your time Sweetie. Male frogs are quite discerning, and you really need to be a female 'frog'.

I think the pastel yellow looks better than any shade of blue would Keith.
