I just got this email: You signed a petition asking the Prime Minister to "stop local authorities & churches selling Allotment sites for financial gain/housing development." The Prime Minister's Office has responded to that petition and you can view it here: www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page14997.aspPrime Minister's Office Petition information - petitions.pm.gov.uk/Allotsave/If you would like to opt out of receiving further mail on this or any other petitions you signed, please email optout@petitions.pm.gov.uk What a shame they didn't follow their own guidelines when they destroyed that fantastic site in London to built some stadium or other for the Olympic in 2012........humph....

I got it as well, yesterday. How can you compensate anyone for their allotment, just by giving them another area? Does that same area have the same soil, been worked lovingly by hand for years? Was their really nowhere else for that stadium or should we say walkway to the stadium, to go? Keith
