Very interesting as ever, Steve. I do envy you that lovely compost - I have to use the plastic dalek ones because of all the rats. My compost is nothing like as nice as with them - adequate but not as good a texture. I miss my old wooden compost bins.... Have you grown that Black Kale (Carvalo de Nero?) that was featured on Gardener's World last Friday? Since then I keep seeing references to it! My lovely new Suffolk Herbs catalogue, which arrived today, has a variety called Nero di Toscana - I wondered whether you had any experience of it? I might have a try next year - the goats will probably eat it even if we don't!

Hiya Steve! As usual Im green with envy, I dont seem to be able to make much progress with my plots these days. The rents have just gone up too, £28 per plot, I know other councils dont charge half that, and provide proper fencing! I want to help attract new plotholders to the site, but if the fences are in such a state, it doesnt inspire too much confidence does it? I have all sorts of things in flower as shouldnt be, I still have sweet peas in bloom, freaky isnt it?

Your right about not inspiring too much confidence if the Council won't at least make sure that you have a secure boundary fence, I should get in touch with your local councillor or MP and kick up a fuss, I'm sure that they might do something about it then eventually, regards Steve.

Thanks Mrs Beige, I'm glad that you like my plots they have taken a great deal of hard work over the 5 years or so to get sorted, good luck with yours as long as you do a bit little and often you will get there in the end, regards Steve.
