I bought a blueberry in the spring but cannot remember the variety! That's typical of me. I'll look it out tonight - it will also remind me of what I should be doing with it.
Mine is in a pot and all I have done so far is move it into a corner by a brick wall to give it a little more shelter. I have done the same with the lingonberry but as these are grown in Sweden, I think that one will be ok!
Sorry I can't be of more help!

You can plant it in the garden now as long as the soil is not frozen. Remember they are acid lovers so do not put Bonemeal in with them. I would work in plenty of pure peat or well rotted manure or compost (if it has not had lime added) or ericaceous compost when planting. Generally they do not need any pruning at all. By the way for decent fruiting you should have two different varieties.

Just planted it but I had to dig out a big Red Hot Poker and crocosmia neither of which I am very fond, so I will see what next year brings ! I might have to buy another one as OB suggested but it will have to go in a pot if I do.

Hello Maggyd -I have 2 Blueberries growing in pots and a couple of others planted in the garden and I leave them outside all year. Some Blueberries are supposed to be self-fertile but I do have a couple of different varieties. It is often a battle when the berries are ripening - who will get them first - me or the Blackbird ;D I planted my plants into Ericaceous compost and they like to be kept moist.I also feed them occasionally with ericaceous feed - like miracid

Mine is a Blue Pearl (if I think pirate I remember the name!).
I have tucked the pot in a corner by the house for the winter along with my lingonberry.
