Ooo, I'm jealous..both my Victoria plum trees died despite my lavishing them with care and attention (or maybe because....). I have a 14 yr old Greengage tree which finally looks as if it might have a decent crop on it at last....they look gorgeous, OB.

We had about 25 lbs of greengages, the same of wild plums and the Damsons are going to be weighed in the cwts. There is also a Marjorie still to ripen up, so we are going to have plum induced trotting this year.

Believe me, there are no recipes for anything to do with plums that we have not tried. The trees here have been producing like this for the last 10 years at least.

I'm really envious OB - if only the supermarkets would sell victoria plums. I've got a recipe for German Plum cake - which isn't a cake BTW -lovely cold pudding served with cream!! ;D

If it has dairy produce in it, then I cannot eat it. We have the Brogdale Stone Fruit book, lots of really good recipes in there, but most are no use to us.

Are you vegan OB? Or is it a dietary problem? I couldn't live without dairy!

Lactose intolerance and I have enough headaches with arthritis in my neck without a migraine from the dairy stuff!. Don't eat margerine either by the way. Obviously I do have some dairy fat, but we do try to keep it to a minimum. For example you have to add some milk to bread when you make it.

My OH has more recipe books than most people have. She collects them, so recipes for anything cooked in any fashion, using any ingredients are not a problem, ta.

We are slowly pureeing and freezing them as they become ripe. Then we will use them for various things over the Winter. This time of year is bad in some ways, we spend a lot of time harvesting and getting things so they will keep for future use. The more we can put on one side for future processing, the easier it is. Far nicer to make plum jam in January when there is not much else to do. Still eating too many of them for stomach comforts sake!

Glad to see your useing them OB, even though it too hot (well usally too hot) to stand over a hot stove in aug. Its a great idea, freeing what you can and makeing the jam when your stuck indoors in the winter.
