One of my toms in pots has got it. The others are OK and have been moved back into the greenhouse. The couple of toms in the boys gardens and in the allotment are still OK as well. This was a plant that had always been struggling for some reason.

I have toms ripening now in the greenhouse. Going to the allotment tonight so I will see what the blight situation is up there. Seems OK in the garden.

You have ripe toms too? Im so behind in this ! Im going up to my plot in less than an hour, I was up there last night for a different purpose, so didnt get a chance to look at the spuds, too dark. Some plotters think they have blight, Im not so sure.

The spuds I dug last week definitely have blight..... they are suppurating, giving off a sour smell and have white mould on them, some have already gone black and squishy. I cant use them, they have to be binned.

I've decided my tom didn't have blight. It was blossom end rot which is odd because all the other toms are fine.

Spoke too soon. The toms planted out in the garden in George's little bed definitely have blight and I had to hoof one of them out last night.

You can pick them and ripen them at home Emsey, in a bowl with a ripe banana or on the windowsill.

You can pick them and ripen them at home Emsey, in a bowl with a ripe banana or on the windowsill. Or in a draw with a ripe banana. The enclosed space 'contains' the ethylene which promotes the ripening.

You know I had given that consideration, but couldn't decide.
I think you are right, it is drawer not draw. A chest of drawers, not a chest of draws. Thank you Mick, now I stand corrected.

Whatever. I'm so glad I don't have blight to contend with...it's been such a bad year for growing generally, Blight is the final straw. Hope your other Toms are fine, Mick.

I think they are. They are in pots and I shifted them into the greenhouse whilst it was p'ing with rain. They look fine and are ripening nicely and are all outside again now.
I have some more at the allotment and I'll check them later.
