I have been scratching my head over this how many leaders should a grape vine have, and how do I attach them to the inside of a GH ?
I can find no fixing points anywhere, is there some special part I need to purchase, I have seen nothing suitable in my local GC?
Sorry if this sounds daft, but my books arent helpful and googling with out proper terms is hopeless.

Sorry if this sounds daft, but my books arent helpful and googling with out proper terms is hopeless. I have just a couple. One running along the apex, and the other half way down the roof (see pic you insisted I post) You can get nuts where the head sits in the groove that runs down the frame, and a nut can screw onto it. Twist some wire inbetween the two and leave a loop to tie string to

I need a closer look at that really, I would have sworn there were more leaders than that, Ill look for these nuts you speak of, at the GC, then. Thanks Sleepy.

Im impressed Sleepy thats some growth spurt! When will the grapes ripen? Here is a crude drawing of how the vine is trained. The view is from inside the greenhouse They should be ripe around early October

Thanks Sleepy thats very clear, Ill give that a go, as soon as I get enough growth to do it, do you feed them with anything special? I gave mine BF&B when it was in the pot and a bit more after it went in the border, is there more I can feed it without it getting too sappy?

It almost certainly had a handful of BFB when planted, and probably benefits from the tomorite the toms get. Best to prune it when it is dormant. When in growth they bleed a lot.

I did know that at least (phew, not stupid then ) I feed the toms frequently enough so thats all it needs then? How long did your vine take to make it to the roof? I remember your GH has been up around 10 years.

I don't suppose you recall which Grape that is, Sleepy, please? I bought a white dessert one which has the sourest grapes ever on it - it's such a disappointment to me. It's still young, in a pot but I can't be bothered with it cos the grapes are inedible.
