We've just been scrambling about trying to get as much of our cherry crop as we can before it's all ruined by the rain. It's better than I thought fortunately - got 6lbs of really good ones and another 4lbs of split ones. There are still a fair few to ripen. Anyone got a good Cheery Jam recipe please??

Thanks The witch. I'll have to be quick I think - everyone who comes into the house goes out with a handful of Cherries....they are particularly delicious! Last year I made batch after batch of Cherry muffins and little tartlets but since I'm now on a diet - I'd better not........

How lovely, all those cherries! We were keeping our eye on our one and only ripe one but a slug beat us to it - it even beat the birds to it!

NOOOoooooooo! That's really sad.......that's what happens with our pathetic greengage tree every year - at the moment it has more fruit on than in living memory but we never seem to have any left by the Autumn....

You've got to hand it to the slug though - that was one big climb for one small cherry.
