Just nipped out to water everything as the sun came out and the temperature shot up and a ******* MOLE has upended my newly emerging carrots. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! EVERYTHING is against me at the moment. I sowed 3 nice straight rows and they were coming up so nicely.....there's only about half of them left. Why is everything going wrong?...sob....whimper....is there any point in me doing anything? I think I may sit indoors and eat flapjacks for 6 months.....

Are you going to do anything about the mole, 4P? You must have a nice supply of worms in your soil!!

Very likely lots of worms but the pesky moles are ever present. I don't mind them normally (apart from seeing a rat pop out from a molehill once ) but in my vegetable garden is a bit below the belt...do I bother them? No......so why can't they do the same for me....? I expect all the digging has caught their attention. Or something. I don't think there's much I can do to get them out - I won't kill them. Maybe I could parley?

Sorry to hear about the moles Dont let him beat you. Its a shame when things get damaged, this is usually done in my garden by my sons football, it does get dishartening when something gets damaged. Keep your chin up Karen Hope this helps

You can get humane traps now and then take it at least three miles away and let it loose!!

Hmm, I think life's too short to be transporting moles.....I'm sure there are many others waiting in the fields around me to move in! I'll let it be and swear gently at it next time it erupts somewhere inappropriate. It works for me......if I stamp my feet a lot I might give it a bad vibe - I'm good at that!

Some say a childs windmill or 10 placed in the soil will disturb them as they dont like the vibration or something.. but I have never had moles so I cant say whether it works. It might though.

I saw a programme recently, about a few mole deterrents and it showed how to use those sonic things that look like a rocket stuck in the ground, upside down. It was sited perfectly over a mole hill, but sadly the hill came afterwards!! Didn't work then!! Keith
