I thought they would make use of the bottom heat! I've just got Aubergines on there now, I don't leave the things for too long on there, as they'll end up bolting if i'm not careful!!

Your allotment looks fine, ive had one for about a month now and its going to take me till next year to get it sorted properly. Do a bit at a time i wanted to get more in this year but the plot needs a lot of work so i am aiming for next year, i want things in like yesterday but its not going to happen. Your soil looks a lot better than mine so i think you will get lots planted.

The bloke who had the plot before us apparently dug in heaps of manure. It's a dream to dig, apart from the 2 patches where the couch grass is!

Both my plots came with free manure, the previous holders bought it, had it delivered, then gave up the plot! ;D ;cool

you can't complain at that!!
I've found it amazing how many free bits and bobs we're getting chucked at us, I haven't refused anything, the offers might stop if we do!

Couch grass mine is riddled with it, and dandelions, docks, the guy who had the plot before me had not done anything so i think he was asked to leave. The plot i got was better than others i was shown, ill get there but it will take time. You will definately get things planted, my soil is like clay.

At least clay holds onto the nutrients!
We've got docks too, I never realised how deep the roots go! They're like gigantic parsnips!
It's come along since the last pics, I'm going up on Sunday so I'll have to take some more pics to show the progress.

Oh dear Karen, weedkiller isnt ideal, but if its your only choice do be careful , dont breathe it, and dont let any get carried onto other plots, it wont make you any friends if it does.

There is a guy that does the weedkilling i may ask him to do it for me. The thing is the mind wants to keep going but the hand wolnt let it. I go every other day for about an hour, thats just enough before it hurts again. I dont give in easily thats my trouble always been a fighter, dont know when to stop. We need some rain to soften the ground then it will be easier, now thats an idea ;D

Well, we'd given up on all hope of the plot being rotivated and then they did it!!! luckily they ploughed around MOST of the bits we had done ourselves. However they did flatten our fruit bushes!

This is it from a different angle. We were not sure what to do when we first got there as we were in shock that it had been rotivated. Now we are glad it has been done as it lestened (is that a word?) the amount of digging we had to do.
