darn, I had even told OH that it was the Pulmonaria!! Yes you are right 4P, just looked it up in the New Flower Expert (page 186 if anyone needs it). So, is it worth keeping it, then for someone who atm, only has an ornamental garden? It sounds invasive!
Sweatleaf, don't feel bad, it has happened to all of us some day. If I can split it or take cuttings I will try and send you some if I can. That is if you want some. Might have a look around and see if I have anymore!!! If I have, then I could send some now, well maybe after this spell of bad weather!

Sorry again Keith I had a look at Russian Comfrey and Russian Lungwort last night and they are related, both are used in folk medicine and both are in the Borage family so I dont feel quite as bad now.

That's OK. I have about 3/4 clumps so if you are interested, I could send you some. Never sent plants before, but I am sure I could do it, maybe even throw in some water ones as well.
Just need to wait until this frosty weather is over! Anyway I am off out now, catch you later.

Keep it if you like it Keith. You could try and dig it up but I did warn you about the long root! It's a very pretty plant I think but I'm aware that I don't share the same gardening tastes as everyone else.... .The white one you have is a woodland plant and very lovely in dappled shade.

Think I might, but will need to move it, as it is near to where the waterfall is going in, if we stay! I wish I could stop saying that!! Also the border where it is, is actually south facing, but does get some shade from the fence!! Thanks again 4P. I would never have thought of comfrey, as I have never had it. Is this one any good for adding to the compost heap, other than the normal green matter? Not the whole plant I mean!! Keith

It won't hurt it a bit to chop it down and put it in the compost at the end of the summer - if it's in quite a sunny spot it might be a bit frazzled round the edges anyway. I cut mine to the ground at that time and spread it about the veggie garden when I'm spreading goat muck ready for winter and compost bins. It obviously likes it where it is though!
