I agree, they are excellent. Quite multi-purpose. That way up they could be trenches on the front line. But the other way up, with holes cut in them, they could be defensive pill-boxes.

Defensive pillboxes? For fragile people who are need a lot of tablets to get them through each day.....bit cumbersome I'd have thought. Shame they have drainage holes - they'd make sweet little mini ponds....

Could you get plain ones and get the children to paint them? Just a thought, perhaps, if there is an art teacher who could help?

I've often thought about that but I have never found any paint which I thought could stand up to the strain....I might have a look in my Kim Wilde book actually - I think that's one of her suggestions. Paint technology has probably changed quite a lot since those days....

You can paint on wall tiles now - not that I'm too sure about it lasting personally but that's probably more down to me!

I can't wait to have a look at these but Yahoo Broadband is misbehaving itself at the moment. Whenever I click on the thread all Yahoo does is show me the address I've just clicked on on my mail page. The mail's up the creek too......... :

4pygmies, in the new Gardeners World mag, they do a garden seat with decoupage, sealing it with clear acrylic varnish - would that be of any use do you think? Not sure how they would stick to the plastic though

Thanks Myrtle, I'll have a look...don't think I've got the magazine yet. The problem is always how to get the surface suitably keyed in...I think most paints would flake off as soon as the pot is moved....still there's an answer to everything isn't there?

If not with a polythene bag inside them with a few slits, you could make a mini bog garden. Keith
