I must admit I havent planted any yet, I leave it till November, and do them all then, when the shops have begun to reduce them I must remember what I did with all last years bulbs, though...... I put them somewhere "safe" :

I shouldn't feed them but gravel is good as it keeps the mice out and looks good.

I have a problem with my dog. I think she just likes the fact that it is lovely new compost and has to have a good snuffle in it.
I've had to put them all on the garden table.

Mine are all raised up too Mick - the chickens are ruthless when it comes to pots. My bulbs stand their best possible chance out in the garden!! The plus side of the pot marauders though is that I've got a lot more hanging baskets than I ever thought I'd have. Your pots sound lovely blacky.

Luckily we've got some spare wood floating around at the moment. I'd better get my order in quick before it's all used to keep us warm through winter. ;D

I just plant them as normal in a wide shallow container in bulb fibre they dont need a lot of depth but they do need a fair bit of moisture. When they are just showing the flower head above the leaves I bring them indoors, and they flower a week or so later.
When the flowers die down, plant them in the garden.
