I think it may need re potting and a tidy up you never know it may flower again after that.

I expect you have seen this site, but if you look under FAQ it says something about flowering. I know nothing about them, except for what I have read on this site. What one is yours, as it really is nice? Keith

Here you go its called a Billbergia windii, also known as Queens Tears, it is a member of the Bromeliad Family. Needs re potting and tidying up.

Its in my Conservatory which is south facing, it gets hot in the day but cold at night but they can temps as low as -40 deg. Ive had it for 18 years not bad for 99p

Its worth having but watch out when potting on as the leaves have very sharp edges. like little thorns.

I looked it up Karen and it says it propagates itself by "pups" or offsets and that you can tell they are ready for separation when the pups develop roots, you have a real moneymaker on your hands there! Keith`s site says 29.00 for a six inch plant !
