Hello Debbie, Did you have a nice time away? If that is a hop then it's a THUG! And if you don't see the flowers it may be the male form which means you won't get any hops to brew with (I think...) My Golden Hop is a total nuisance and I spend a lot of time hacking, cutting and yanking at it as it goes miles and mainly where I don't want it - under roof tiles etc.....but I'm not sure it is a Hop - the leaves are deeply serrated and quite bristly - which yours aren't, although they may be only the immature leaves as yet. So I'm not a great help am I?

Hi 4P! Lovely time away thanks with loads of cuttings which all look like they're taking, a bit optimistic but one can hope! I've got a Golden Hop too but it's just been planted out and in its very early stages. I'm really worried about the slugs getting it but if its as mad as yours I shouldn't worry then, great! Maybe it's not a hop then after all, but it's certainly as aggressive, but there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING on it but leaves and more leaves - it has to seed somehow! Maybe it's a kind of vine, a very creeping one, like they get on those old science fiction movies.

Oooer.....watch yourself then...or a triffid! You need buckets of salty water at the ready then I believe. Or perhaps it's a lonely male something or other climbing endlessly in search of a mate. When it finds a Lady friend it will have the most beautiful flowers all over it......
