Speaking from experience a days digging is enough to give you gyp, has anyone got any favourite potions or lotions to help me in my discomfort? I cant take anti-inflammatories at all. Homeopathic ones would be most welcome

Oooh, I know those pains - they go with me everywhere while the leeks are in season.....my lower back permanently feels like the first stages of labour at the moment (remember that feeling?). You just can't beat a good hot soak I think. Stick lavender oil in the bath (Lock your OH and children out of the bathroom - you need to relax!) And sadly I've found that it's best to keep going (within reason obviously) so you keep limber , sort of!

I was going to say Lavender Oil too. Put some in the bath when you go for a soak, stick a few drops on your pillow before you go to sleep and that should help. I hope you don't ache too much in the morning.

As above...AND pop your nightie/PJs or teflon pants into the tumble dryer before you get into the bath...then after your wallow, squelch your way to the tumble dryer (wrapped in a towel for decency) and pull on your lubbly warm clothes...mmmMMmMmMm I have been known to put my (fabric) slippers in the tumbler for a few minutes when me tootsies are cold...fantastic ;D
My sister uses a mint liniment as well...I'll ask her what it's called and get back to you.

Radox for normal aches and pains. If that doesn't work one of these does wonders to all but the worst of strains. Then I am not sure, as my wrist is still bad after 8 days, so suggestions welcome!! ;D Ibugel comes in handy as well. Keith

I'd agree with a long good soak. Hubby swears by Deep Heat and that kind of thing but it's never worked for me, it just smells a lot.

Tescos has bag packers doesnt it? And theyll carry it out to the car, take advantage, they do get paid to help, and like my OH says if they are seen to be useful their job is safer. And if all else fails, I used to be told by my Greek Gynaecologist, Benzzeekneeees not ze back!

I used to use it to quite good effect, but I always thought that others could smell it too, so don't use it, even though I still have a tube in the medecine cabinet!! You can't mask the smell either, no matter what you try!! Keith
