Cryptic conversations....hmmm.....anyway, I've been standing out in the sunshine pricking out seeds as I MUST get some more into the PT to make room for the next batch in the house. Did Cosmos, Echinops, Gaillardia and the first of the Sunflowers into individual pots. Moved 4 trays of various Sunflowers into the PT. I'm getting clogged up with Tomatoes but I can't move them yet - too cold out in the PT at night, although I have some under fleece in the GH. The Oriental Poppies, Nepetas, Creeping Thyme, and Helenium are in the "halfway house" in the conservatory. This week I must sow all the seeds I've got left so I have plenty of room for all the Basils, Courgette, Runner Beans and French Beans early in May. I wonder how many hours of a week I spend watering all these babies??

I have got him to part with a lot of precious junk, a real acheivement! He does love to surround himself with "useful" stuff We have to move a fence next, and lay the foundations, I want to put this one on a dwarf wall to gain a bit of extra height! ;D Wish me luck! Sleepy has a massive greenhouse with a grapevine in it! (jealous, I am ) ;D

Ooh, so am I! I wanted to grow a grape in my PT but I decided it wouldn't have enough ventilation and would go mouldy every summer.......bum...... A brick wall. Sounds like a good plan and it will keep rats out too.......doesn't it mean a delay though? It will be worth it I think. Coo, how exciting....!

Only a couple of days extra I think, as soon as the bricks set the greenhouse can go on top, and the footings dont have to be too strenuous, Ill dig them myself. OH has a concrete mixer so we only need cement sand, etc. ;D

I've been sowing standing outside and it was so hot I had to go and put my hat on! I sowed Clustered Bellflower (Campanula glomata) Sweet Rocket Poached Egg (Limanthes) Golden Knapweed (Centaurea macrocephala) Greater Knapweed (Centaurea scabiosa) They're all in my GH Sweet Basil (Basil genovese) 80 modules Anise Basil 40 modules Purple Basil 40 modules Sphaeralcea Los Brisas (Freebie from T&M - never heard of it before) They're all in my warm bathroom in sealed bags Haven't sown leeks, Runner or French Beans or Courgettes yet..........still haven't had time to sow carrots or plant the onion sets or chitted spuds out.........eeh, I'm all behind! (Was that Jimmy Clitheroe? Anyone remember him?)
Ooh, I hope the Poppy Paeony germinates.....sounds gorgeous.

I have a GH, half my 30' PT, a table outside, two tabletops in the conservatory, and a bath with a big board on it plus my mother has two windowsills full......I love it though! I think the seed bit gives me more pleasure than anything else. I always end up feeling like I've failed by Autumn as the weeds have encroached and I haven't done half the things I planned to. At this end of the season though I'm as happy as a pig in a piggy poop! I'm growing for my garden, my school club and for selling now I wonder how many seeds I've actually sown? Hundreds and hundreds of them and now they all need pricking out.....

Constant spraying, ripping open of packets, gloating, bad backs, and wandering up and down the seed displays at GC's...the hard core addicted are also prone to clicking intently on online shops and hiding the credit card receipts. This tendency to lie and hide from the true tally of seeds bought is the hardest to treat and involves the snapping of plastic and many tearful confrontations from non gardening OH's who just waste their money in public houses whereas we are saving the planet, restoring the ecological balance, creating beauty and feeding our families with healthy, lifegiving plants grown with love and care and by the sweat of our extremely knackered and bent bodies and NO ONE UNDERSTANDS!!!
