my oh opened the back door this morning and he thinks he saw a heron take off from the pond,he said it was a big bird, we've been out checking the pond but can only see 4 fish in there, we are hoping the others are in hiding, we should have about 20 in all,

Petal my O.H. opened the blinds one morning just in tie to see a heron take off from my barrel he said it hardly cleared the fence it was so low I did lose about four in all they are a flaming nuisance! if it know you have fish there it will be back so I would put some net over as soon as possible ! I know my Son Tulips O.H. has lost a couple to a heron.

I've tried to take a photograph of him on the house roof but never quite succeeded. Let's hope they are just in hiding Petal, it does happen - wasn't it debbiedoos who had this happen last year?

i hope your right about them in hiding, it would be such a shame to lose them to the heron, when we were only saying to the neighbor that we haven't lost any this year, we usually have a couple die due to the winter,

Petal--I had some lovely big Goldfish in our last pond--I forgot to cover it with netting and the Blooming Heron got them all--it made me feel so sad because I had them for years-- I lost heart so never replaced them--

Once they know that they have found an easy meal they will return till they have all gone--Get the defences out-- It is heartbreaking when you have watched your fish over time and have given you pleasure-and then for them to be taken. Hope you manage to scare the Blessed thing--

well it looks like we are mistaken with the fish, yesterday we counted 14 fish, including the big white one, it looks like they were hiding very well,as we didnt see them untill we put food in the pond, thank goodness, we still put the net on in the evening, not taking any chances,

I just have to ask Emsey, how did Chris tread on a fish?
