Oats?

My son has brought some instructions home as what to bring in with him tomorrow for a cookery lesson; 300g oats, and quantities of sugar and butter. All the proportions were given but I assume he's making biscuits and if so would the oats need to be rolled oats or could porrige oats do? I haven't made oat cookies for a VERY long time - could anyone help me out please?

I'd just send in the bog standard ones Debbie. I'm sure that's what most people would have in their cupboards.....actually they make better flapjacks I think anyway!
