we had 4 big cobs and a few little ones MrsB....however, I'm keen to try growing them in the ground as they did take up a lot of room in the big pot. I panicked when Sleepy said it was too late and bought 4 plants (£1 for the 4) from Hawgrips, a local nursery. So if the ones I've sown don't germinate I'll still have sweetcorn. ;D

we sowed some in mid june last year and we had some lovely supersweet sweet corn from them in september/october, and look at the rubbish summer we had too! So don't be put off, my first lot which i started a few weeks ago are in now, and I have got another load to start now.

How long do the seeds take to start showing through the soil? I planted the sweetcorn and courgette weeks ago now and nothing to see so far, just the salad leaves I planted in the same tub.
