Too early to tell if it's a mam.

Because of the drop in temperature I've moved the propagator away from the window and onto the desk in the conservatory and turned the heat back on...it's running at 20 - 25C atm and hopefully this will encourage my seeds to germinate.

You're all very quiet.....
How are the seeds doing?
Sweetleaf - Aloe polyphylla. The concensus seems to be that they need loads of water to germinate. Even to the extent of putting them in a plastic bag with water. If I can find them I think that is what I will try.

That just needs Sweetleaf to report and 4P to update.

4P?
Aloe polyphylla never showed but there is a suggestion that it should be sown in water in a plastic bag so i've hoicked mine out and done just that thing. I shall report back ere long.

Mick...what do I do now? do I just leave the seedling where it is? it was so hot in the conservatory I've taken the plastic bag off...the seedling seems happy enough...even if the stem looks a bit curly (I used cheshunt compound)...so I tucked the light soil around it to give it more support.

Yes, just treat like any other seedling. Don't let it dry out is most important.

Sorry Mick but it's bad news....my 2 weeks away has done for them...I left strict instructions but no one seems to have taken any notice of them..I dunno if they were overwatered or underwatered but they're all gone.....sob..... My time away is extracting a very high price, plant wise and garden wise.....so sorry...failed again

Might be able to try again later in the summer if I get another seed list. Do you want a couple of Stapelias? obducta and leendertziae??

I don't think I should, thanks though Mick. I am a Stapeliad killer so have no doubt that they won't even germinate! Bit depressed about my horticultural skills atm. Save them for someone who has proper green fingers ;D :

I potted up two pelargonium laxum seedlings yesterday. The smallest into a 3", and the larger one into a 4" terracotta pot....looking good so far....they're in the conservatory with the cacti.

Well done CPB.
The seeds you sent me are mostly doing well. The French marigolds look lovely and the Delphiniums are coming along nicely. Only one Morning Glory came up and that has barely grown for some reason.

The MGs are 'mini-sky-blue aren't they Mick? they're meant to be either in a conservatory or in a very sunny spot in a pot...mine are pretty small still, but are planted up against our latest garden structure...the metal frame from an old piano! The french marigolds are the stars of my garden this year...I have them all around the herb and veg beds where they look stunning.
